Buttons and Bows

I have always wanted to make pretty bows, I would see them on other people's packages, and wonder just how they could make them look so great.  My daughter in law, who I must say is a very handy person to have in the family, Thank you for putting up with us, Robyn, can make the prettiest bows I've ever seen.  She is just a really crafty person, she can paint beautiful pictures, decorates other people's homes, and also can make a mean pan of Apple Dumplings.

Anyway, back to the subject.
She had promised to show me how to make pretty bows several years ago, but it seems that every time we were together, there was something else to do, or no one had any ribbon.  Yesterday, we were about to leave, and someone mentioned making bows, and low and behold, there sat a box of beautiful velvet ribbon, so she showed us how to do it.  Of course, hubby was in a hurry, so I told her I would come home and practice on some ribbon I had here.  I had some wired 1.5 inch gold ribbon, so I created a very glittery bow.  I am sure it has it's flaws, but, for a first effort, it ain't too bad.  Now to rush out and buy more ribbon.
Oh wait, there is a closet full, somewhere...

  1. Oh-darn it! I hit post comment and then X'd out before the word verification came up! Taking a break from bed here. The wired bow turned out great. Once you get used to making them they whip up really fast. Hugs- Diana

  2. I still can't figure out how to make those bows, and I even bought a "bows for dummies" book. I guess I'm a REAL dummy! Great first effort on your golden creation!
